On April 3rd, Phoenix rapper and lyricist GOD SAMARITAN delivered a bombastic reintroduction to their catalog through their new single “PAIMON.” GOD SAMARITAN (or The God Samaritan) confirmed the title referred to the spirit featured in the 2018 Horror flick “Hereditary,” (and by extension, the spirit written about in notable grimoires like The Lesser Key of Solomon).
“PAIMON’ is the climax of a long musical journey for me. There’s been a lot of sides to my sound over the years, but nothing that quite encapsulates the parts of me I’m most proud of.”
Beginning with a rattling, depressive beat, GOD SAMARITAN describes the anguish and transformation of themself figuratively into the spirit Paimon as a jumping point into clever wordplay, comparing a famous decapitation scene to The God Samaritan themself gaining power. Flowing into a biblical reference to Azrael (recognized as the “angel of death” in Islam and Christian popular culture in general), GOD SAMARITAN uses their brief 2 minute 9 second foray into darkness as both self-motivation, a warning to the haters, and displaying power through vulnerability.
“I am a competitor by nature. My lyricism has exclusively focused on the most vulnerable sides of me, so getting to a point in my writing where I’m comfortable dropping a song this brazen is a huge victory. ”
The God Samaritan further reflected on the positive aspects of their life the song has inspired, crediting friends and supporters:
“I feel like this PAIMON is me coming into my own. There’s going to be a lot more bravado where this came from.”
Out of Range can confirm this new single contains bravado in spades.

Lyrics:
[CHORUS]
Thoughts in my head decay
Til there’s nothing left
Fall in the grave I made
But they won’t let me rest
I don’t know where I stand
When the echoes end
All hail The Great I Am
I am
[VERSE]
PAIMON in the flesh
Clique like Charlie
Taking heads
Bout to show up on your steps
Like Azrael in Exodus
I descended from the Heavens
Left MCs afraid to rest
When I rearranged these 26
And made it look so effortless
They’re all Escher with their verses
Tessellation with no purpose
Formulaic
Forsake greatness
Push for plays
But never verges
Let the curtains fall on all the frauds
Resurrection of the God
Words are filled with lead
To empty heads with hollow thoughts
Killed the Good inside
And came back with a somber sound
Tables turned, I Let it Burn
They bowing at the altar now
Demons all around me
Wanna see me meet my end
Every Pharisee will perish
When the God ascends
Let em rest
Thoughts in my head decay
Til there’s nothing left
Fall in the grave I made
But they won’t let me rest
I don’t know where I stand
When the echoes end
All hail The Great I Am
PAIMON in the flesh
PAIMON in the flesh yuh
PAIMON in the flesh yuh
PAIMON in the flesh yuh
PAIMON in the flesh yuh
